ARTIST NOTE

The incredible angler’s excitement of fishing was fostered in me at a young age fishing with my dad and watching his astute precision when studying the aquatic entomology and the waters.  His natural talent and insight made his casting look like an art form.  His appreciation and love for the sport was contagious and not only did I get the bug for the thrill of the catch I have been enamored by the play with nature and the connection to fishing which has been a favorite past time and total delight!  Over the years I have had the remarkable experience of fishing with anglers whose presence on streams, river or oceans have been some of my greatest memories.  Wading in the glorious streams and rivers is where I love to be or enjoying lakes and oceans admiring the mysteries and the fish that live beyond the surface.

The brilliant metallics, colors and varieties of fish are God’s miracles and their symbolism runs deep.  In my art FISH represent abundance and illumination, plenitude, and the intuitive psyche.  The ancient and present form of the fish supplies health, well being and is the oldest symbol of Jesus.  Jesus the miracle worker, healer, transformer and redeemer of renewal.  Jesus as father, brother, son, friend, God; when you know him, you know his love, and so the symbol of the fish can be transpired into the symbol of loving him.  When I cast a line and trust in the flow heaven and earth transpire revealing lessons, treasured gifts and endless surprises.
